Coming Home
Thank you very much for coming to this page.
God created all people so that He could share His life with them. He is not only Creator but in a very real sense Father. Everything about the Father’s house is based in love. First, He loves us. Then, He calls us to love Him and our fellow man.
Unfortunately, every single person has left God’s loving care and has chosen to live life selfishly. If you were raised in a church, you may know this as sin. If not, just calling it selfishness gets close to the point.
If you have taken the time to come to this site, you probably have some interest in making your way back to God. I pray that you make that journey.
The journey back to God is different for every person. However, there are key elements to the journey that must be followed if you are to end up back home.
First, you must realize that you have committed specific acts of selfishness, greed or some other acts, that are the complete opposite of God’s commands to love. To get to the bottom of it, you have to admit that your nature is to fulfill your own selfish desires.
At the same time, you must believe that God loves you and that His ways are good and holy. You must also believe that He has made a way for you to return home.
You don’t have to fully understand every aspect of what God did, but you do need to know and believe that the life of Jesus reveals God and His plan.
Jesus entered the earth in a human body. He had always been the Son of God. But when He was born into the earth he also became the son of man. His mission was to show us the love of God, live a life of complete holiness as a man and then allow Himself to take the punishment for our selfishness.
In years to come you will better understand all that happened when Christ died on the cross, but for now you need to know that His love motivated Him to die in your place so that you could be allowed back in the Father’s house.
You may need to know more about the life of Jesus before you trust God for your salvation. If you do, you can go to this link to hear the short story of the Life of Jesus.
However, if you have already believed that He was truly the Son of God and have been captured by His love, you simply need to admit that you are selfish and have done hurtful selfish things which are contrary to the Father’s will.
You must then choose to turn from that sin and believe that God will accept you based on the work that Christ did on the cross.
While you can do all this privately, it would be good to seek out other Christians and let them be with you as you talk to God. Speaking of talking to God (prayer) you open your mouth, speak to Him and He hears.
Let Him know your sorrow for living apart from Him. Express your faith that He is a good Father and that Jesus has done the work that is necessary to bring you home.
In the moment you believe and pray, God opens your heart and fills it with the Holy Spirit. At this time, you will want to seek out Christians who will baptize you, accept you into their church family, and teach you how to know God through His Word and prayer.
If you live in or near Lexington, Kentucky, feel free to call myself or one of my friends. We would love to meet with you to explain more or answer questions. If you live in another place, you are no further from heaven and there are probably good Christians who can help you along. If you need help finding them, you can email me at dad100@gmail.com.
